While I was pastoring I wrote an article for the local newspaper called “Nuggets of Truth”. Someone that worked in the embassy in Burkina Faso, west Africa received that same newspaper. When they finished reading it, they threw it in the garbage. An African man named Nasse Emmanuel would get it out of the garbage and read it. He could read and write English. He read the “Nuggets of Truth” and got born again and contacted me through the address I put in the article because he wanted to know more about Jesus! He asked me to please come to Burkina and help him to learn about this wonderful salvation.By 1988, I knew I had to travel to West Africa. I had never been out of the country before and to be honest with you, I was very nervous to say the least.
Jesus appeared to me, comforted me and spoke to me. He had previously appeared to me in 1980 as I reading and meditating on Jeremiah 1:4-10. At that time He spoke these words to me; He said, "I have put healing in your hands." I met with the African man, Nasse and we began to work together starting many churches. Many time we slept on the ground in the villages and I saw more and more the great need for churches and schools. Nasse has since then gone on to do other work and I continue to do the work the Father has called me to do.
The Lord brought us together with Child's Hope, Inc. founded by a wonderful Burkina Bay man named Constantin. He is a dear brother and together we formed RDM-Child's Hope. We are now taking care of over 2000 orphans and 500 widows. We feed, clothe and send them to school and give them much spiritual nurturing. The orphans are in a sponsorship program where we find sponsors for each child to support them for $24.00 monthly. Each sponsor receives a packet and photo of the child they sponsor. Anyone can sponsor a child by contacting our office. We have many pastors in Burkina that are under our care. Our Administrator, Constantin, meets with these pastors once a month. They all come together to share ideas and receive spiritual support and help with the scriptures and then they receive monthly financial support and help with the scriptures and then they receive monthly financial support from RDM. Our pastors are so faithful and they love their villages and want to teacfh the Good News of the gospel to their congregations
Through our faithful partners, we also sponsor evangelism efforts and a radio ministry that preaches the Gospel over the airwaves. Through our supporters we have built orphanages, church buildings, schools, drilled wells, and we are now building a dormatory. Together we are reaching the world with the love of Jesus!.
